Karina Smirnoff Has A Full Load This Year With The Opening Of Her New Dance Studio And Her Stint On DWTS

WOODLAND HILLS, CA, October 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ukraine born ballroom dancer, Karina Smirnoff has recently opened her own dance studio in Woodland Hills, California. This goes perfectly with her current and reoccurring gig on "Dancing with The Stars" (DWTS), which is what she is most known for.

DWTS is in its 13th season and this time around Smirnoff's partner is none other than the esteemed actor from "All My Children", J.R. Martinez. Hopefully this will be a winning season for Miss Smirnoff. She has yet to take home the coveted trophy, but has made it to the semi-finals on season twelve with the original Karate Kid himself, Ralph Macchio.

Smirnoff has always been in love with the art of dance and started her first dance class in ballet at the tender age of five. Since then she has traveled worldwide, taking home numerous international competition trophies. Perhaps her greatest accomplishment is being the only female to have made it to the British professional finals with three separate partners.

But don't let all the sequined gowns and makeup fool you; Karina also has a BA in not only economics, but also in information system programming. Which must come in handy somehow on the dance floor.

When Smirnoff was recently questioned about her favorite thing about her new partner, she said, "J.R. has girly feet and they are beautiful... Much nicer than my feet!" Let's see if they stay that way after the countless hours at rehearsal and competition. Of course men don't have to be squeezed into tight high heels like the ladies. But when you watch Smirnoff you would never know she was in any kind of pain. She is the epitome of a true dancer, one that makes the hardest move appear effortless.

Well Karina has given that a simple solution; she became engaged to Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Not only is he another Russian ballroom dancer, he is also her competitor on DWTS.
