The Picturedrome Theatre in Gloucester is due to stage a new adaptation of The Secret Garden.

COTSWOLD, ENGLAND, March 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new production of The Secret Garden can be seen at Gloucester's Picturedrome Theatre from Friday April 15th.

Presented by the Gloucester Theatre Company, the show is due to run until Monday May 2nd and is suitable for all ages.

Fans of the classic 1910 story by Frances Hodgson Burnett, as well as the various film and TV adaptations, should find plenty to enjoy in the company's new version.

Initially published in serial format, The Secret Garden is a classic of children's literature that has been popular with young readers for decades.

It tells the story of Mary Lennox, a sickly young girl whose life is transformed when she find the key to the concealed area of the title, which seems to hold magical powers of transformation.

Doors will open at 14:30 BST for matinee shows and 19:30 in the evenings, with the performances due to start 30 minutes later.

Tickets are priced at GBP10 for adults and GBP8 for concessions. Family passes - providing admission for two adults and two children - are also available for GBP25.
