Opera National de Paris favourite Coppelia will be performed in the French capital next month.

The upcoming run of the show will see matinee and evening performances taking place from March 19th to 30th.

Coppelia has been part of the Opera National de Paris's repertoire since its creation in 1870 and the current interpretation by Patrice Bart first premiered in 1996.

The story tells of a doll that comes to life and the way its creator is haunted by memories of a deceased woman.

"In collusion with set designer Ezio Toffolutti and his effects of transparency, replication and illusion, the ballet exudes a troubling and mysterious atmosphere," explained the organisers.

To reach Palais Garnier, people should take the Paris Metro to a station called Opera.

Visitors can also check out the venue's collection of artwork while they are there.

Tickets for the ballet show are available online or at the box office and range from EUR8 (GBP6.75) up to EUR89.
