Liverpool audiences are set to enjoy a theatrical adaptation of the classic children's book Moonfleet, which sees an orphan search for treasure.

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, September 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The classic children's book Moonfleet will be brought to life in Liverpool in a family-friendly performance that is sure to be appreciated by adults just as much as their offspring.

It is set to be staged at the north-west city's Unity Theatre on October 29th and 30th, when audiences should prepare themselves for a wild ride though the imagination of J Meade Falkner.

"A gang of mischievous buffoons washed up on wild shores tell the fearsome and funny tale of orphan boy John Trenchard and his quest to find Blackbeard's lost treasure," explained the team behind the production, Angel Exit Theatre.

The novel of Moonfleet was originally published in 1898 with a film adaptation released in 1955 and several other versions also appearing over the past 50 years.

Meanwhile, this theatrical interpretation is sure to provide parents and their children with an entertaining evening, as the performers are critically acclaimed and the storyline is fun and inspirational.

Guests at Liverpool hotels will be able to catch Moonfleet at 19:30 BST on Friday, while the Saturday performance is a matinee show at 16:30.

Tickets for the production cost GBP10, but there are concessionary prices available, including a family ticket for GBP28 that admits two adults and two children.
