Comedy fans spending summer in Bournemouth should order tickets for the Jimmy Carr show.

He will take to the stage at the Bournemouth International Centre on Exeter Road, as part of a tour that has seen him visit a huge number of towns across the UK, including Norwich, Taunton, Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen.

Carr has become widely known across the country thanks to previous stand-up comedy tours and his TV appearances, particularly as presenter of the comedy quiz show Eight Out of Ten Cats.

"A heady mix of artistic integrity, loyalty and avarice has put Jimmy back on the road. If you only see one comedy show this year... what's the matter with you? Get out more," joked the organisers.

He has released a variety of stand-up DVDs over the past few years, including Jimmy Carr In Concert, Jimmy Carr Telling Jokes and Jimmy Carr Comedian.

Earlier this year, a man proposed to his girlfriend at one of the funnyman's tour dates, with the woman accepting his proposal, according to the Croydon Guardian.

The show begins at 20:00 BST, but it is advisable to get there a little earlier to find your seat and get some refreshments.

Tickets start from GBP25.20 and are available to buy online.
