Anyone who loves watching a musical from their childhood may want to see the live version of Mary Poppins when it arrives in Melbourne next month.


MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, June 03, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who remember all the old songs from Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke in the Mary Poppins film will no doubt want to see the stage adaptation of the musical.

The opening night will take place on July 14th, with tickets available from AU$50.

Each week, eight shows are scheduled at Her Majesty's Theatre on Exhibition Street in Melbourne.

Among the cast members are Matt Lee in the role of Bert, Marina Prior as Winifred Banks and Verity Hunt-Ballard playing Mary Poppins.

People who attend the show should leave two hours and 40 minutes for the production, which includes one interval.

This show has been produced in conjunction with Disney, while it is being produced by Cameron Mackintosh, who has previously had success with the likes of Cats and Les Miserables.

Mary Poppins the musical is likely to appeal to adults, who will enjoy the nostalgia, as well as children.
