Hit musical Hairspray will be playing in Dubai during July.

DUBAI, UAE, May 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone who enjoys taking in a musical while on holiday should consider booking Dubai hotels during July to take advantage of a tour of Hairspray.

The popular musical, which tells the story of a group of teenagers growing up in 1960s America who dream of being dance stars, will be taking to the stage at the Dubai Community Theatre Arts Centre (Ductac).

Its story centres on one girl's quest to win a spot on a TV dance show, focusing on the difficulties she encounters due to her weight and desire to integrate the African-American community.

For one week only, there will be seven performances of the award-winning musical, commencing on July 13th and finishing on July 17th.

Among the stars announced to appear in the show are Stephen McGlynn, Anthony Stuart-Hicks and Dani Harmer.

However, some of the cast will be comprised of local actors and dancers who were given the opportunity to audition for a spot in the musical earlier this year.

Tickets for the shows will be available from the Ductac website, with prices to be announced at a later date.
