ZARAGOZA, SPAIN, April 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People booking Zaragoza hotels later this year may like to attend a performance from one of Spain's best-loved singer-songwriters.
Joaquin Sabina will be playing at the city's Pabellon Principe Felipe on Saturday June 19th, treating the audience to some of the best songs from his 35-year career in the music industry.
Described as a "lion of Spanish rock 'n' roll" by real.com, Sabina has been referred to as a Bob Dylan figure for the Spanish-speaking world.
Now 61, he started out as a poet before taking to the stage as a musician during the 1970s in London, where he was living in exile from the Franco regime.
Sabina returned to Spain when the dictatorship ended and released his debut album Inventario in 1978.
His first major hit followed in 1980, when the single Pongamos Que Hablo de Madrid went to number one in the charts.
The singer has since released many more successful albums and continues to play gigs in Spain and around the world, despite suffering a stroke in 2001.
Tickets for Sabina's concert in Zaragoza are available from several online retailers, priced at EUR108 (GBP94).
With a capacity of 11,000 spectators, the Pabellon Principe Felipe is Zaragoza's main sports hall and home to the city's basketball team.
