CLEARWATER, FL, November 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan Mariscal, Piano Performer and Teacher, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in classical piano performance and instruction.
Susan Mariscal has had 46 years of experience as a piano performer and teacher. She started taking piano lessons at the age of seven in Des Moines, Iowa with Dr. Kurt Rogozinski, a student of Max Reger. After graduating from high school in 1957 she studied for two years under Armand Basile at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance in 1962 from the State University of Iowa in Iowa City under John Simms. In 1991 Ms. Mariscal received her Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of South Florida in Tampa where her professor was Jacque Abrams.
In 1991 she became a member of the Upper Pinellas Music Teachers Association which is affiliated with the Florida State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association. She also is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the National Guild of Piano Teachers and the Delta Omicron International Fraternity. Ms. Mariscal became involved in her profession because she started piano at an early age and decided to pursue it as a career. She attributes her success to her passion for music and to realizing the need to impart music to the lives of others.
