KY - 2008 - Founder, Theresa Morris.
Theresa chose Ohio County Park & RV campground off the Western Kentucky Parkway and the Natcher Parkway with the Bluegrass Crossings being the "X" that marks the spot for tourists who are already familiar with Kentucky because of Ohio County being the home of bluegrass music founding style father. It's ironic that the founder's name is Morris as Annabel Morris Buchanan is known for promoting the first folk festival called the White Top Folk Festival in 1931 of American Appalachia in the 20th century. Theresa believes that the common folk are more than those of the rich and poor commonly called the middle class who are the backbone of America. She noted that just as in the 20th century depression, song and dance raises the spirit in hard times. An annual American Cultural Exposition is needed to display the grassroots of American individuals what is termed Ascension according to the Ace Folklife founder who claims music and dance uplifts the spirit. "Ascension is the raising of spiritual consciousness of who we are as one sentient intelligent being species." TJ Morris
